Permanently erase a person, or delete your company

Two irreversible tools - understand how they differ from the reversible options.

For: Owners & admins · Category: Your team & roles

Most "removal" you will ever need is reversible - suspending access or marking someone exited. These two tools are permanent and should be used with care.

Steps

  1. First, consider the reversible option - Suspending or exiting an employee only locks their access and frees their seat - their record stays. Cancelling billing keeps all your data. Use those unless you truly need permanent removal.
  2. Erase an employee - On a person's profile, the red Danger zone -> Erase permanently removes their record. You must type their name to confirm. You cannot erase yourself or the owner.
  3. Delete the organization - Settings -> Company -> Danger zone (owner only) permanently deletes the whole company and everything in it, after a typed-name confirmation.

Tips

  • These cannot be undone. If you only want to stop someone working, use Suspend/Exit instead (see "Suspend or revoke someone's access").
  • Deleting the company is different from cancelling a plan - cancelling keeps your data, deleting removes it.
