Disconnect or change the company Google account

What happens when you disconnect, how to finish it, and how to forget an old account.

For: Owners & admins · Category: Company setup (owners)

An owner or admin can disconnect the company Google account at any time. Veridox then removes the Google access it gave people. The files stay in that Google Drive.

Steps

  1. Disconnect - Go to Settings -> Integrations. On the "Company Google account" card, choose "Disconnect company account" and confirm.
  2. What people notice - Colleagues can no longer edit company Google files in Veridox until you connect the account again. The latest copy saved in Veridox can still be downloaded.
  3. If it did not finish - Removing access can take a little while. If the card says "Disconnecting did not finish", choose "Finish disconnecting". You can also reconnect the same account instead.
  4. Changing to a different account - Disconnect the current account first and let it finish. Then choose "Connect company Google account" and sign in with the new account. Veridox blocks the change while company Google Docs, Sheets or Slides exist only in the old account.
  5. If the old account cannot be reached - If Veridox can no longer reach the old account but it still has shared files or folders there, the card says so. An owner can choose "Forget old account" and type the old address to confirm. Owners and admins then get a notice listing what is still shared, so someone can remove that sharing in Google Drive.

Tips

  • "Forget old account" is for owners only and cannot be undone. Files kept only in that account stay there.
  • If you are not sure, reconnect with the same account. That always works and keeps everything in place.
  • You can also remove Veridox from the Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Veridox then stops reaching that account and asks you to reconnect.
  • Disconnecting never deletes your Veridox folders or documents.
