Add custom earnings and deductions

Build the allowances and deductions you use.

The Components tab lets you create reusable earnings (allowances) and deductions. Each is a fixed amount, a percent of gross, or a percent of basic - and earnings can be taxable or tax-free.

Steps

1. Open Payroll -> Components - Earnings and deductions are listed side by side.
2. Add a component - Name it, choose earning or deduction, and pick how it is calculated.
3. Set the value - Enter the fixed amount or the percentage.
4. Taxable and active - For earnings, mark taxable or tax-free; toggle active to include it in runs. Save.

Tips

• Tax-free earnings do not add to taxable pay; taxable ones do.
• Turn a component inactive to stop it applying without deleting it.
