Suspend or revoke someone's access

Lock a person out of the app, then restore them later.

For: Owners & admins · Category: Your team & roles

When someone leaves or you need to pause their access, change their employment status. Setting a person to Suspended or Exited immediately blocks them from signing in to your company - their account is locked out the next time the app loads. You can restore access at any time by setting them back to Active.

Steps

  1. Open the person - Go to HR -> People tab -> Manage (Employees) and open the person you want to change.
  2. Change their status - In their record, set Status to "Suspended" (temporary lock-out) or "Exited" (they have left), then save.
  3. Access is revoked - Their membership is locked immediately. They can no longer open your company workspace, and any data is blocked for them.
  4. Restore later - To let them back in, open the record again and set Status back to "Active". Their access returns right away.

Tips

  • Suspending affects only your company. If the person belongs to other companies, those are untouched.
  • Use "Suspended" for a temporary pause and "Exited" when someone has permanently left.
  • If they are signed in at the moment you suspend them, they lose access to data straight away and are fully locked out on their next page load.
