The daily timesheet: plan your day and report your progress

When your company turns this on, you plan your tasks before clocking in and report progress before clocking out.

For: Employees · Category: Time & attendance

If your company has switched on daily timesheets, the timesheet card sits right on your clock-in screen. It walks through four stages - Plan, Working, Report, Submitted - and it is what unlocks Clock in and Clock out.

Steps

  1. Plan your day - Pick from the "Pick an assigned task" dropdown and/or type your own task and press the + button. Nothing planned? Use the "Nothing planned today" box to write a short reason. Then press Submit plan - this unlocks the Clock-in button.
  2. Clock in and work - Once the plan is submitted, clock in. While working, each task has a status (Not started / In progress / Blocked / Done), a progress note, and an optional minutes field. A live row shows Total / Completed / Completion %.
  3. Report at end of day - Press "Start end-of-day report", set a status for every task (all must be filled), add a Day summary and any Blockers, then Submit report - this unlocks Clock-out and sends your day to your manager.
  4. Submitted = a locked receipt - After you submit, the card is read-only with a lock icon ("sent to your manager"). You cannot edit it - it is your record for the day.
  5. See past days and replies - Open "My timesheets" to browse the last 60 days. Each day has comment threads where you can read your manager's replies and acknowledgements.

Tips

  • You genuinely cannot clock in until the plan is submitted, or clock out until the report is submitted - this is enforced by the system, not just the screen.
  • Keep task notes short and honest; they are what your manager sees and can reply to.
